Going back to last week’s selection to see what did not get posted yet, but should have been posted. This re-interpretation of Outkast’s ‘Hey Ya’ definitely fits the description.
Together with Brooklyn singer/rapper KAMAU, LA-based producer Sweater Beats set out to make an intro for his sets. The result is a rework on Outkast’s 2003 ‘Hey Ya’. KAMAU does a very good interpretation of the vocals, Sweater Beats’ production work is brilliant and original. Does keep it’s pop appeal but doesn’t shy away from a sound that’s created for big festival/club systems, great track!
