Deadmau5, Madeon, Jack Penate, Ophex, Calvin Harris & 6reenlight.

Just catching up on some track I missed in the past few weeks, came across the Madeon remix of mr. Deadmau5’s ‘Raise Your Weapon’. By now you should be familiar with Madeon’s story. He’s this talented 16-year-old producer from France who has been storming blogs with a few fantastic remixes and recently got played in Pete Tong’s radio show with his latest Deadmau5 remix. Oh and he should be turning seventeen any day now, I remember posting about him being 16 in summer of last year when he put his track ‘shiriken’ on Soundcloud. Also better late than never, the Ophex remix of Jack Penate’s ‘Tonight’s Today’. Ophex is a producer from Vilnius, Lithuania who focuses on baille and tropical/ global bass. His remix is a perfect deep take on Penate’s 2008 single and one of the better moombahton remixes at the moment.

And here’s yet another remix on Calvin Harris’ ‘Flashback’. Harris posted the acapella about half a year ago on Soundcloud with the download option enabled. The thing has been downloaded over 7000 times from the official channel and probably many times more from other blogs, forums, file sharing sites and so on. It resulted in an absurd number of remixes. And as with the over-remixed ‘Rolling In The Deep’ acapella from Adele, I’m getting a bit tired of these remix floods. I’m only posting this remix here because 6reenlight did such a good job on the instrumental. He’s a Venezuelan dj/producer from Caracas and he’s actually about the same age as Madeon. Damn these youngsters know how to handle their remixes these days..
