ID2 (Pixel Cheese Remake)
So Avicii is about the to release an obvious follow-up to last summer’s anthem ‘Levels’. For now the track is still titled ‘ID’ but there should be more info soon. For those of you who can’t wait for it, a Polish producer named Pixel Cheese took a snippet of the track and made a longer re-edit. ID before it gets ID’d. The download link is here.
Wecanonlybewhoweare (Keep Shelly In Athens mix)
Here’s an official free remix on a band called Crazy P: ‘Wecanonlybewhoweare’ shared by 2020 Vision Recordings. The track comes from Crazy P’s ‘When We On‘ album, released in September this year. The track is remixed by a Greek band called ‘Keep Shelly In Athens’. Beautiful track!
Baby I’m Yours (Nico les Tuyaux 90’s Pop Refix)
French stuff. Nico Les Tuyaux made a 90’s disco edit of Breakbot’s ‘Baby I’m Yours’. The remix relies mostly on the synths from the original, and uses only a few parts of the vocals.
Alpha-good.
This is quite a simple disco mashup, but it’s really cool to see these two tracks fit together really well. The mash comes from an L.A. based producer who calls himself Just Brad. He uses David Guetta’s ‘Alphabeat (NEUS Remix)‘ with the acapella from Nina Simone’s ‘Feeling Good’.
Ruffneck
Now here’s a sound I’m just really really really digging lately. First time I heard something like this was when listening to James Blake and Jamie XX dj sets. (Go google some of those, really worth the search!) I’m not really sure how to classify a genre for it, but if you listen to this next track you’ll get it. The track is taken from the ‘Remixxes Vol.1 EP’ by Falcons and it’s titled ‘Ruffneck’. It’s obviously a remix on Adina Howard’s ‘Freak Like Me’. You buy the EP on Bandcamp, but you decide the price. So yeah, you can set the price to zero point zero and just get a free download. But I’m pretty sure Falcons can appreciate it if you sponsor them a beer. Or a Lambo, that’s up to you.
Midnight City
For interwebs standards, this track is pretty old. It first boiled up the blogsphere in late July. But today I found out you can download this track for free on We Are Hunted. WAH is an ingenious music website that that monitors online track popularity and generates a top 100 chart of upcoming music. They recently changed the look and feel of their website and it’s brilliant. Anyway, every now and then they also hand out free tracks. And this week they are trading you M83’s ‘Midnight City’ for your email address. Go here and scroll to the right to get it.
Shuffle
Same thing goes for Bombay Bicycle Club. You can get their track ‘Shuffle’ for free, it’s in the Emerging Artists list on We Are Hunted.
