Boy George, Plastic Plates, Stange Talk, Coves, Brandy, Lane 8, Seiho

This guy. Was introduced to Boy George when I was a little dude, watching random A-Team episodes. Suddenly this pale funny looking guy is a fifth team member doing pretty much nothing to catch baddies but delivering a stage performance at the end of the episode. Later I learn he’s one of pop music’s more excentric figures. WAY later he’s making a comeback. Not sure if that worked out. But he is on Soundcloud. Giving away a free version of his track ‘Happy’, which is a collab with Dj Yoda. It was released on September 17th. A great track.

Another incredibly smooth remix by Plastic Plates: ‘Walk Away’, original by Aussie band Stange Talk. Slow buildups, great vocal layers. Built for mixsets.

Perfume commercials. London group Coves cover Chris Isaac’s ‘Wicked Game’ originally from 1989. Same song, pretty much the same structure. But with a smokey female voice and a lot more distortion. Wicked.

Lane 8 has a go on Brandy’s ‘Never Say Never’. Because every 90s and early 00s RnB vocals shall be recycled. But yes, great rework. And not chopped, screwed, pitched down or anything. Instead, awesome synth line. Bit like Perseus. Enjoy it.

I actually don’t feel rave. But it’s a cool production anyway. Seiho is a producer from Osaka, Japan. He’s pretty Cali-inspired, makes deep stuff. Lovely arrangement.
