Hi Monday, gentle start. Amsterdam based musician and film maker Rutger Muller tweeted us with a new project of himself and his band of friends, ‘Hypnotic School’. Their first EP is just out, a free release titled ‘Tame The Memory’. Four tracks on it, one original and three remixes. Nice, slow, deep electronica. Tastes like Massive attack, Portishead, and Ninja Tune, maybe. Comes with an official video, equally good. Shows a keen eye for details. And that classic bike three minutes into the video. Sudden clarity moment there, realized this was actually shot in Holland. Lovely.
Another gentleman from the Netherlands put out something big during the weekend. ‘Tumble and Rawr’. Definitely a little less gentle, expect this does some damage when dropped at the right place and time. Get through the first minute to get to the good stuff.
B-B-Breakdown! Annie Mac lays out a new Proxy today, track name’s ‘Junk’. Breaks n Bassline, should do very well in live mixes. Subtle reminder of some earlier Fake Blood productions. UH!
