A few days ago, Australian singer/songwriter/producer James Chatburn released his much anticipated sophomore EP titled ‘Damen’. On it, this really cool rendition of a classical piece appears, titled ‘In The Wild’.
After getting much attention from collaborations with Hilltop Hoods and XO, a succesful Mahogany Session and releasing his debut EP ‘001’, James Chatburn Returns with his new five track EP. While songs on ‘Damen’ such as ‘Omens’ and ‘Darling I Missed Your Call’ have been getting most plays, this song below has a nice surprise to it that simply doesn’t get old on replay.
‘Into The Wild’ is a soulful song built around the melody of classical 1875 composition ‘In The Hall Of The Mountain King’ by Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. Through time the composition has made quite a few appearences in cinema/tv – for instance look up movies such as Rat Race, Needful Things or The Social Network. What’s cool about it is that James Chatburn pours the pretty hectic classical piece into new form. ‘Into The Wild’ is a slow, tiptoeing, hip-hop version about inhibition and tension between two people. Enjoy below.
