Shoulda (Oliver Rado Remix)
Subtle remix on Jamie Woon’s ‘Shoulda’ from his ‘Mirrorwriting’ album. Oliver Rado added a four the the floor kick, some toms, hats and perhaps some more percussion. Although Rado tagged it as a remix, ‘edit’ would be far more appropriate. A very useful edit to use in live mixes. The remixer was kind enough to host a download over at Zippyshare.
Chaka Shao Khan
This is XV, a Wichita-born rapper/singer. On his Facebook page he has a biography stating: “..The 24-year old lyricist finds himself playing the same role he played in middle school and high school, in the music industry. The nobody begging to become a somebody“. Look a bit further, and you’ll find this self-appointed ‘underdog’ already signed his name to Warner Bros. Plus, he has an army of over 40.000 people following his every tweet. One might want to update that biography.
For good reason though. XV posted a free track on Soundcloud titled ‘Chaka Shao Khan’, produced by Dj Tech-Neek. Great track, good lyrics, solid production. But most of all, it relies on those cleverly chopped up vocals by Chaka Khan. Too Good For Radio still has a download link.
Hometime (Eat More Cake Remix)
Eat More Cake, The five-headed electronic band from London, posted a new remix yesterday. It’s their version of ‘Hometime’, a track by One EskimO. The remix is part of EMC’s free remix album ‘Eat More Cake – The Remixes Vol 1‘. A nice album, but to be honest it has only two tracks that really hit the spot. One of those is EMC’s remix on Stardust ‘Music Sounds Better With You’ which was posted here earlier. The other one is the minimalistic remix on One EskimO. To get this track, download the album.
