Good to be back up to date again. Late evening checkup gets up a few more nice tracks. Machinedrum was also the producer behind Azealia Banks’ recent single ‘1991’. The best bit. UK superlabel Ninja Tune have just put up something new by the NYC producer. He gives an interpretation on Jesse Boykins III’s ‘The Perfect Blues’. Which also features Melo-X. He, in his turn, was also part of a remix on AB’s ‘1991’ which went around the blogs a few days ago. This track hovers somewhere inbetween hiphop and drum and bass. Yet it’s neither of those. Such a fine tune. And it’s free. Thank you so much mr. Machinedrum.
Staying within the UK, we find Rogue. A dubstep juggernaught from Birmingham. He put up ‘Zion’ today. Good tension in the chords. Lead synth glides like a lubricant. Bass, as always, growls like a chainsaw. Good production, can’t not enjoy it.
Man, are they able. This is a Danish/Portugese band called M.A.U.. Synth pop fits the best description. This new track of theirs is ‘Summer Heart’. Rolling synth bass, weird vocals with big delays, eighties feel. Dreamwave. Makes you want to cut your jeans short, ride longboards and smoke cigarettes as a statement.
