Towers (Karma Kid Re-rub)
This is sort of becoming a phenomenon. Most of Bon Iver’s tracks consist out of vocals, guitars and synth for melody and little or no drums. This leaves a lot of room for adding sounds, beats in particular. A lot of remixers a picking up these Bon Iver tracks, adding beats/basslines and putting them back on the interwebs. Here’s a recent remix on Bon Iver’s ‘Towers’ by Karma Kid. And although the concept of ‘just adding beats’ sounds pretty simple, it really issn’t. That’s why this is such a good remix.

Right Here (Story Teller Edit)
Don’t get me wrong, I still think Skrillex productions are really tight. But I’m kind of Skrillexed out at the moment. Here’s an example, a nice edit by Story Teller on Skrillex’ ‘Right Here’. The chords are still really nice, but the bass sounds are not changing that much anymore. It’s just more of the same. Too bad, because it shows that a lot of hard work went into the sound and concept of Skrillex’ tracks.

Free Your Mind (RAC Remix)
This week Remix Artist Collective released the download option on Andre Allen Anjos‘ remix on ‘Katie Herzig – Free You Mind’. The original version has a quite enjoyable stop-motion video, as shown above. Also be sure to follow Katie Herzig on Soundcloud.
