First time we were introduced to this track was during Ultra Music Festival. As promised, Dutch EDM-giant Martin Garrix played out ten unreleased tracks in his closing set on Friday. There were a few trap surprises in his set, with this track being one of them.
The lack of information leaves a lot of people guessing about this track. AREA21 is said to be a collaboration project by Martin Garrix and other yet to be announced vocalists or producers. Some names are being dropped in the comment sections, such as Maejor or Dyro. But officially, we know nothing.
Things we know for sure: this song is official as it has been shared by STMPD RCRDS, the recently established new record label which is being run by Martijn Garritsen (Martin Garrix) and apparently his postage-stamp-enthusiast father Gerard Garritsen (which is why STMPD is pronounced as ‘stamped’). The label logo is also included in the artwork for Spaceships.
