It’s the debut EP of Swedish duo Snow Culture on NYC’s Neon Gold Records; ‘EP1’. This week the Swedes – whose name is a reference to their home country’s cold winters – share another single from the EP, titled ‘Paris’.
The duo, consisting of Ana Diaz and Oskar Sikow , released more music earlier this year. ‘No Sleep’ was the duo’s official debut in february 2017, followed by ‘The Box’, ‘Cold’ and finally – together with the full EP1 – ‘Paris’. Before putting more time into Snow Culture, both artists had different careers in music. Sikow worked as a producer on music with artists such as Erik Hassle, Marlene, Kate Boy and Giorgio Moroder. Vocalist Ana Diaz is working on Snow Culture next to a solo career, signed under her own name to Sony Music.
When Diaz and Sidow met, Snow Culture came into existance pretty quickly after (according to this Billoboard interview). Diaz: “I’d just moved back to Stockholm after over a decade in the US/UK. Oskar was just about to move to Los Angeles. We kicked it and early in our conversations Snow Culture started forming – we both needed an outlet. It was a very swift process from meeting to creating to signing with Neon Gold.”
