I Hear Footsteps
Happy Monday, enjoy your coffee. This weekend saw the release of a new Oliver tune titled ‘Footsteps’. The bad news at the time was: No download link. They fixed it, and now the amazingly filtered Nu-Disco jam is all yours.
How Deep Is Your Love
Should’ve featured this a long time ago. Let’s do it now before the year is over. It’s The Rapture‘s ‘How Deep Is Your Love’, released by DFA Records. Needless to say, fantastic recording. You can get the track by liking The Rapture’s Facebook Page, or just download it straight from Soundcloud.
Boys
Synthpop from Russia. Yaroslav Litovchenko and Stephan Kriven are SoHight, a duo from Magnitogorsk (near the Kazakhstan border). They recently signed to the Paris-based Yeah!/Dish Records. The duo describes their music as ‘the synthpop of the future’ which in my opinion isn’t quite accurate. Their sound is pretty similar to a lot of great eighties-synth-pop-from-the-zeroties such as Fred Falke, Danger, Fear Of Tigers and Madeon. The good thing is, Their name easily fits in that list. Their productions just have that high quality ring to it.
Somebody That I Used To Know (Miami ’84 Remix)
In that same genre comes what I think is the most original Gotye remix to date. A Canadian producer remixed ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’. His name is Miami Nights 1984, and by reading that name you’ll probably have a pretty good idea of what the track will sound like. Really wish the vocals were a bit louder though, but great remix anyway! (The download option is down on this one, but MN84 put up a Mediafire link.)
Towers (Sango Remix)
Seattle’s Sango Beats surprises with a little take on Bon Iver’s ‘Towers’, from Iver’s self-titled second album. The remix leaves a lot of room for the instrumental work and cuts up most of the vocals. Though only three minutes in length, a very satisfying remix to start your day with.

Little Tybee Video
The kind people of Paper Garden Records sent in this video last week, you’ll like it. It’s titled ‘Boxcar Fair’ and created for Little Tybee, who wrote the music. The entire video was made in one shot, with no edits or cuts at all. Directors: Brock Scott and Tom Haney. Unfortunately the track isn’t up for free download, and wouldn’t want to repost Little Tybee’s ‘Nero‘.
So after some digging, here are two other free tracks from Little Tybee, made available by Paper Garden Records and Little Tybee themselves.
Little Tybee – Building A Bomb
Little Tybee – Passion Seekers
Goomba Bounce
What to think of this.. Pro: Fun vocals. Con: annoying Jerseyclubbish vocal cuts. Pro: Tight hypnotizing production. Con: Is this production going anywhere? Pro: Damnit I just pressed replay again. Track is titled ‘Goomba Bounce’ written and produced by Maal A Goomba and Tom Richman. If you dig it, you might like the entire Diana Frances Goombawave Mixtape.
