New remix contest. But it’s NOT a remix contest. Funkerman made us write that down in uppercase. The Dutch dj and his label Flamingo Recordings are hosting a contest in which producers can win a release on the label and some studio equipment worth a small fortune.
The man is right about it not being a remix contest. Participants are only provided with vocals by bro and sis Andy and Dorothy Sherman. There is no original track, just those vocals. Competitors must use the words ‘Now or Never’ from the vocals. The rest is up to the participant’s own creativity. (So the winner will be released as an ‘Original’ instead of a remix.)
One of the first participants to prove his creativity is Midibyte. His submission is a crunchy rocker and just has to be heard:
