Take A Walk (Peking Duk Remix)
Been playing the crap out of Passion Pit’s track ‘Take A Walk‘ lately. So good! Remixing something like this should be fairly tricky, hard to even come close to the original quality. This Australian duo, Peking Duk, had a go at it. And we’re not saying they outdid the original. But still, be sure to listen to this. The intro isn’t particularly strong but from 40 seconds and after that, very good stuff. And very different from what these aussies usually do, which is battering their audiences to death with (sometimes rediculously) hard electro.
Green Eyed Love (Alkalino Rework)
Alkalino is a german producer who lives in Munich, where we imagine he’s taped stuck to his digital audio worksystem. The number of tracks (especially re-edits) he puts out every week, if not daily, is amazing. (But to be fair, some tracks are only slightly edited though..) There’s also a long list of his official releases up on discogs too. Next to that, he’s a dj. Which means every now and then someone needs to cut him loose from the studio. In August this year he’ll be doing a little US tour, hitting Seattle and San Fransisco. If you’re in the neighbourhood, be sure to have a listen. Now I was going to say ‘His latest edit..’ but that wouldn’t be correct. He uploaded this track yesterday, to be followed by two new edits up until the point where I’m writing this post. Anyway, it’s a rework on ‘Green Eyes (Classix Remix)‘ by Mayer Hawthorne. Credits to Classix for an awesome remix, and to Alkalino for making it dj-friendly.

Hey, Let’s Do It! (Jay Shepheard Unreleased Instrumental)
Cool little giveaway by Mixmag. They’re handing out a previously unreleased Jay Shepheard remix on ‘Hey, Let’s Do It’ by Proviant Audio. Fun little remix that’s nothing like the original.
Little pro tip: We usually don’t post other people’s mixes, but this is very very much worth checking out. Magician‘s twenty-third mixtape: Get it here.
