They Royal Concept is a Stockholm band of four with some very impressive recordings. This week they’re premiering ‘Radio’, a brilliant uptempo Phoenix-like Pop track.
Drake’s album release is making waves this week, with ‘Too Much’ ft. Sampha being the track that is getting a lot of remixes. (4 reworks in this post alone, and we’ve posted some before.) The first Drake remix comes from Dutch guys Mr. Belt & Wezol. It’s their third remix since their kickoff this summer. Korg M1 reference.
The second Drake remix comes from the duo Jason Burns & Jessie Andrews – Jason is a Portland-based producer who has released his music on Symbols Recordings, Sounds Of Sumo, Dubfront and Think 2wice. He’s worked with Kastle, Brent Still Life and most recently Jessie Andrews. She’s an L.A. based Dj/producer who has released on Ultra Recordings and has released bootlegs on Flume, Prince Club and Duke Dumont. Also, she’s an award winning pornographic actress.
This year’s also seeing a great bunch of Janet remixes and we’re nowhere near the end of it yet. Vienna producer Milo Mills reworked Janet’s 2008 ‘Rock With U’. Have to say Kaytranada again, Beats and bass really resemble some if his work. It’s just paced a little faster and has some pianos/synths to bring it up to flavor.
A reference to the original is in place here. Xinobi remixes Donald Byrd’s 1981 classic ‘Love Has Come Around’. Uses samples, but tastes mostly like a Xinobi track.
And an original is also what you’d want to hear on Snakadaktal’s ‘Ghost’. The beautiful serene original recording gets a bassy rework by Sydney twin brothers Cosmo’s Midnight. They pitch it up quite a bit, and add some additional synths, subs and beat-works.
